Chalmers getting back on track

After all the new information we received in Hällefors through the MSB, the project has now taken a turn in a new direction. The main focus is now to create a solution that can be flown in by airplane, and that is cheaper and lighter than the current tent.

Now that we have a clear direction and since we have much more information on how things really work out there, the project feels do-able and fun again. After a week of exams, we have started working on the project again. We’ve made our own list of requirements, put together from information from the MSB, Johan, the shelter centre standards, the sphere standards and Tents; a guide to the use and logistics of family tents in humanitarian relief (from the shelter centre).

Further, we’ve split into two groups. There was too much logistics involved in handling a project group of eight, so now we’re two groups and will present two results. We hope this will speed up our work.

The next two weeks until Easter break we’ll be working on adjusting the concepts to the new direction as well as refining them. Right now we have some ideas for walls or houses, but details such as windows, doors and how to attach them will require quite a lot of thinking.

We’ll let you know when we have something to show off…
